SAD Mag is a volunteer-run Vancouver nonprofit that showcases emerging creatives through independent arts and culture media. Focused on local stories in art, design, and identity, it champions fresh perspectives, bold visuals, and experimentation—while supporting underrepresented voices and prioritizing Indigenous perspectives.
The Brief
The concept of death has inspired diverse ruminations from all walks of life throughout multiple expanses of human history - from casual, everyday conversations, to thousand-page, philosophical treatises. This issue SAD Mag has taken on the challenge of understanding death in new ways, reframing our preconceived notions by exploring its varied manifestations.
