A Cinematic Journey Through History
Created for the UBC Chan Centre for the Performing Arts.
Originally conceived for a live audience in March 2020 and cancelled in the wake of the pandemic, Ridge has since been reimagined as a feature film. Shot on legendary Cooke Anamorphic lenses, the production transforms the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts into a world unto itself—drawing on its dressing rooms, soaring canopy, and orchestra pit as a dynamic, unconventional set. Brendan McLeod and his band The Fugitives shed every preconception of what a concert hall can be, allowing the venue to emerge as a character in its own right in this stunning cinematic adaptation of Ridge.
My Role
I was tasked with selecting a typeface that captured the artistry of Ridge and applying it to the design of the end title sequences.
The font Span designed by Jamie Clarke was chosen as the header for its sweeping serifs and timeless forms to portray the beauty and heritage created by Ridge.
