White on Black

This illustration is a homage to the Black Lives Matter movement. The title White On Black refers to the injustices Black people have faced in a society made for their oppressors. History has been continuously rewritten to write out and downplay the achievements of Black individuals. To make all lives matter, we have to start with Black lives. All lives don't matter until Black lives do.

Collective Arts Brewing has used white On Black on their beer packaging for their Amplified Voices–a series of limited-edition art that challenges the status quo, featuring artists and artwork that convey a sense of hope for a safer and more inclusive future.
